I have lived next door at 10230 N. Boulder Road since the summer of 2005. I love it!
This is the area known as the Mohave Desert… the Arizona high desert in Mohave County, Arizona. The altitude at home, here, is about 3400 feet… often just “right at” the snow-line during a spate of winter weather. We do get snow a few days a year and, for the most part it is dried-up, soaked-in and gone before the next afternoon… sometimes, even the very same day! Many of the coldest winter mornings may dip into the twenties… and over the years I have seen 19 degrees a few times.
And the SUMMERS! Woo-hoo! Right now, going into the fourth week of June, the temps are starting to hit into the 100’s! … as they say: “it’s a dry heat” and, yes it often is.. uinless a moonsoon rain is threatening! … in which case we get the heat AND the rain!… I know, seems crazy, right? It will be 98 degrees and then start to rain with big huge raindrops. When the rain starts, the temps will suddenly drop off to 82 or 76… amazing!
All in all… it’s very pleasant here… especially when you have both a heater and an AC unit ready to go. As Spring fades away into summer, you may want the heater in the morning and the AC for the afternoon! As we slip into the winter, there is often “frost on the pumpkins” in time for Halloween.
